The NFT, ‘Everydays: The First 5000 Days’, went for $69 million – making Beeple one of the top three most-valuable living artists.
By the end of 2021, $25 billion had been spent on NFTs.
In February 2022, Julian Assange and Pak’s Clock NFT became the second-most expensive single NFT ever sold when it went for $58 million.

Bored Ape launched in April 2021, with their designs costing around $190.

The artworks appear to depict a crowned Trump running through a burning dystopia and a more peaceful scene where he’s laying on the ground motionless, covered in graffiti. Since Joe Biden won the election, the token features the piece with Trump on the floor.
It received a winning bid of $66,666.60.
The $6.6 million price tag means Beeple has broken his own record for creating the world’s most valuable NFT. Previously, another piece of his called “THE COMPLETE MF COLLECTION” held the record at $777,777.77.
Beeple, real name Mike Winkelmann, is fairly new to the NFT game, but he’s quickly become a cult favorite.
Many of his pieces have fetched significant sums on Nifty Gateway.

TSLA CEO Elon Musk is a big supporter of DogecoinDOGE/USD, but the tech tycoon has shown his dislike for non fungible tokens (NFTs) by taking a dig at NFT buyers.
What Happened: Musk apparently suggested that NFT buyers are hallucinating when he tweeted a photo of a man being counseled by a therapist and asked whether NFTs were also in the room.

Musk’s dig at NFT buyers also comes after digital artist Mike Winkelmann, popularly known as Beeple, gifted a Musk NFT to podcast star Joe Rogan on Tuesday.
A video of the podcast on YouTube shows Beeple gifting Rogan a white box with a physical NFT artwork of Musk as a hulk in his underwear taking the Dogecoin mascot for a walk.
It’s not every day that you see two phenomenal names in the tech-industry being taken together. These two names – Elon Musk and NFT, are not just identities or brands, they are very much a phenomena in itself.
So, when the Tesla-man announced that he is going to sell a song as an NFT, it did send the internet into a frenzy.
How the Elon Musk NFT came about
Back in March 2021, Elon Musk took to Twitter to announce that he is putting up a Non-Fungible Token or NFT for sale. What set this particular NFT apart from the rest was its novelty; it was an electronic music track about NFTs.
NFT creators has apparently offered Musk 69 million USD, to which Musk replies that he wants only 420 million of his favorite altcoin, DOGE (~24 million USD).

Although beeple indicated that they agreed on the price, it is unclear whether any of this is to be taken seriously. Musk did not include any link to the actual NFT, but it could well be possible that he will create the NFT later.
beeple’s 69 million USD offer is not just a random amount either.
It is the exact same record-breaking price the artist received for selling The first 5000 Days, a collage of his first 5000 digital artworks.
Tesla stocks at one point.
‘I heard that at one point he had a large short position. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it seems weird,’ Musk told Rogan.
‘People I know who know the situation pretty well, I asked them “are you sure?” and they said “yes, he has a huge short position on Tesla.” That didn’t work out too well.’
The tweet came hours after it was reported Musk is poised to collect a $23billion bonus after electric car company Tesla reported its record quarterly profits.
Critics have questioned why Musk, who has enough money to change ‘the fabric of American society’ has instead decided to spend it on a social media platform.
‘It would just be nice if Musk decided to get on board with humanitarian efforts and spend more money on something meaningful, let’s say this country’s blights of homelessness and poverty.
Elon Musk has released a song about NFTs and announced to sell it as an NFT. On Twitter, the digital artist beeple offers 69 million USD for the token.
Inception for NFTs
Have you ever wondered what the richest person on the planet does in his spare time besides releasing minimalist Tweets to manipulate the stock market or sending eggplant emojis to Peter Schiff? He writes music of course.
Elon Musk has released a Techno song and uploaded it onto his Twitter channel, announcing that he plans to sell the song, whose lyrics refer to non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as an NFT itself.
Let’s not forget though, that this negotiation between the two greats was more of a banter rather than business.
Interestingly, Beeple himself had sold an NFT artwork a week before this. The digital collage titled “Everydays: The first 5000 days” by the artist was auctioned off for a staggering $69.4 million in an online auction, by the famous British auction house Christie’s.
Even though Elon Musk’s music video on NFT may have become old, his NFTs still seem to be a rage.
Just recently, Beeple had gifted American podcaster Joe Rogan an Elon Musk NFT. The two met over a podcast by Rogan, where Beeple handed him a white box with a tangible NFT artwork.
It has a beefed-up image of Musk in his underwear, taking the Dogecoin dog for a walk. Joe has received the 61st out of 100 such Elon Musk NFTs that exist.
Elon Musk on Wednesday briefly switched his Twitter profile picture to a $24.4 million NFT, before being asked by the co-head of Sotheby’s digital art division to take the image down.
Musk, 50, appeared to have taken a screenshot of a collage of an image entitled ‘Bored Ape Yacht Club’, which sold at auction in September.
The NFT features 107 images of cartoon apes, and was bought by an unknown bidder.
NFTs are bitcoin-like digital tokens that act like a certificate of ownership, and live on a blockchain.
Musk’s use of the image was noticed by Michael Bouhanna, the co-head of digital art at Sotheby’s.
‘@elonmusk, as much I admire your work I’d like you to remove your pfp that I created for our Sotheby’s sale,’ Bouhanna tweeted.
‘Or you credit me.
